Student Research Assistant
(15,20 € / 16,09 € hourly rate, 40 hrs per month, until the end of October 2027)
The department Survey Design & Methodology (SDM) is both nationally and internationally recognized for its expertise in survey methodology, gained over many years by conducting own research as well as consulting on and implementing renowned survey projects. In the DFG-funded project ScaleRep, a repository for multilingual, frequently used response scales (agreement, importance, satisfaction, likelihood, etc.) will be built, enriched with survey methodological and linguistic metadata, and made available to the research community.

Your tasks will be:
- Researching (translated) response scales in study documentation and archives
- (Semi-) automated or manual transfer of response scales into the documentation structure
- Supporting with the development of a user interface and user manual
- Literature research on the translation and validation of response scales (e.g., rating tasks, validation studies), systematic compilation of the information
- Depending on language skills: coding (annotation) of multilingual response scales
Your profile:
- Enrolled in a social sciences program (political science, social sciences, psychology, etc.) or another relevant (language) program (MA)
- Very good command of English, both spoken and written
- Basic knowledge of survey research and questionnaire development is an advantage
- Interest in multilingual and multicultural topics is an advantage
- Interest in interacting at the interface between software development and content provision
